Lapland Adventures
We planned this adventure last year and aimed to do this in the Spring, but due to the pandemic, all our plans got canceled and we only did a short trip in the summer. However, our enthusiasm for visiting the northern part of the country did not diminish, but I have to say we didn’t have many expectations. Sweden really gave it all, a beautiful full display of the Northern Lights, beautiful weather, snow, sunny days, rainbows, amazing autumn colors, lakes, and forests.
After a short stay in Uppsala, we traveled to Luleå (which has a very beautiful airport surrounded by forests), we rented a car and started driving towards our first accommodation, a small and cute house near a lake. We got to see Abisko National Park and also visited Kiruna (a nice little city), did some hiking, spent time in very beautiful and wild surroundings, saw the tree hotel, passed the Arctic Circle, and learned a few new things about the Sami people and their culture, admired the beautiful Lapland.
Click the heart.
As a phone photography enthusiast, I have been equipped with a tripod for my phone, and this is the third time I could take photos of the Northern Lights, while the boys were using expensive gear, hahaha.
I have to admit that we were very lucky, we got to visit the right place at the right time, not too cold, during a Kp-6 geomagnetic activity, shortly after an A2 solar storm, so all the great conditions we could not predict when planning the trip were met.
